DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION

The 30th of May 2008. According with the date written on the mail stamp, the works sended after this deadline, would not be considered.

WHEN

The third edition will be set within the 2nd and the 5th of July 2008.

CONTENTS 

Every kind of subject for fiction and documentary movies are accepted (except films that hurt Festival’s fondamental aethical values). The works would not contain any kind of economical advertising.

YEAR OF PRODUCTION 

We will accept works that have been produced in the last 5 years before the Festival.

PRE-SELECTION 

The partecipants have to send by e-mail, as an attachment:

• the subject: max. 20 lines per page;
  max.:

  1. 10 pages for feature film subjects (more than 60 min.)

  2. 5 pages for middle-lenght film subjects (between 31 and 59 min.)

  3. 3 pages for short film subjects (between 3 and 30 min.)

• the summary in max:

  1. 15 lines for feature film subjects (more than 60 min.)

  2. 10 lines for middle-lenght film subjects (between 31 and 59 min.)

  3. 5 lines for short film subjects (between 3 and 30 min.)

• the author's aim (the aim researched through the content and the shape of the work), in max.:

  1. 5 lines for feature film subjects (more than 60 min.)

  2. 3 lines for middle-lenght film subjects (between 31 and 59 min.)

  3. 2 lines for short film subjects (between 3 and 30 min.)

• the submission form: the authors should send also the submission form fully compiled. If the submission form is not compiled in every part the movie would be excluded. You can download the submission form here.

• The entry fee’s receive of payment.

The lack of one of these things would cause the exclusion from the festival.

SELECTED FILMS: OTHER STUFFS

In order to be introduced in the catalogue or in the Festival's website or to be offered to media to gain promotion, the selected authors have to send by e-mail,as an attachment:

• 1 author's photo, jpeg standard, max. 50 KB

• if it's available, author's bio-filmografy, doc standard.

After selection, the author could not withdraw the film during the Festival.

SENDING 

For pre-selection and selection we would consider only the works that respect this regulation. The sending expences are carried by the sender, if there are expences that would be carried by the adressee, he would resend the pack to the sender. The mail must be ordinary.

ASSURANCE

Once that the works sended will be delivered by the shipper, they will be protected from any risk by Festival expences. If any damn would be done, by Festival fault, to partecipants’ works, the festival assurance would protect only the material cost of damned works. The works would not be copied or presented outside of the Festival.

ARCHIVE

In case of selection, the Dvd sended for the pre-selection would be used for projection. They will not be resended and they will be archived in Festival archives, only for documental and study purpose. It will be excluded every commercial use to keep safe author’s and productor’s rights.

LOGO

Productors and distributors of the presented films must show, in any occasion of pubblic projection, in any form, the mention “Presented in the Rome Free Cinema Festival”, eventually with the jury mention.

ENTRY FEE

It’s an economical contribution for Festival management in order to keep safe its real indipendence,Infact,the festival would not accept any kind of direct or indirect commercial sponsorization. It accepts just contribution by public agencies, moral agencies and privates that would be signaled. The Festival exists thank to voluntary people, agencies, association and private supporters, enrolled persons and thank to the public entry ticket and to the contributes mentioned.
The entry fee of the partecipants is:
- Fiction Section:

1. feature film (more than 61 minutes) € 50

2. middle lenght film (between 31 and 60 minutes) €. 35

3. short film (between 3 and 30 minutes) €. 25

- Documentary section: 

1. feature film (more than 60 minutes): € 50.

2. middle lenght film (between 31 and 60 minutes) €. 35 

3. short film (between 3 and 30 minutes) €. 25

- The partecipants can pay the Festival entry fee, indicating “Free Film Festival Fees”, and marking the Section and length, as a bank tranfer for:

ACCEPTANCE AND CONTROVERSY

Submission and partecipation to the festival, imply full acceptance of this regulament. Productors, distributors or other persons who present the film must be legally authorized to submitt the movie to the Festival. The Artistic Director of the Festival would solve any unforeseen contingencies, or would depart from these regulament for a right reason and in unforeseen events. Any controversy on the interpretation of any regulation article, would be solved considering the original text in italian.
