"The festival is proposed as a way to discover and to know what is produced in the cinema with particular regard to ethic and aesthetic, but it 's also a point of meeting and exchange between amateurs and professionals who produce or are interested in a cinema of this type. The first two editions were also an aid for some participants awarded an opportunity to find better production.
The Festival is of cinema in the widest sense of the term, includes film in any support, documentary or fiction.
The Festival is free because it doesn't depend by commercial, ideological or corporate conditioning. The guideline of the Festival is the principle that art is an ethic and aestethic action. Ethic because it’s a free act that upgrades the human dignity. Aesthetic because it’s an action that upgrades the beauty that makes life worthy to be lived, with particular regard to research that is able to enrich the artistic expression.
Last consideration. The Festival has a financial cost. Currently, the only help is material, provided by Maldoror Film and volunteers. The Festival is looking for financial aid, but only by public institutions, moral organizations or private benevolent. It's applied to candidates at the Festival a partecipation in the form of a fee, which doesn't cover not even 1% of the financial cost, but that is practically useful and symbolically significant for the support of the Festival. If sufficient funding come, the fee will be refunded to the candidates.
It dipend on each of us, only on each of us to prove that a cinema truly free ethically and aestheticallu exists, and exists also a people who loves a cinema characterized by freedom ethics and aesthetics.
The Festival is organized by Lanterna di Diogene.'
